I usually get nervous on my first event but after my first event I
just feel like I competed one event what's going to go wrong with the others. Then I just calm down and
compete the rest.

I only sometimes get nervous
Hi, I am 9 years old and in level seven at
my first level 7 meet I was very nervous and I was 2, 3, and maybe 4. I
don't know but we had the the state meet at our gym Calhoun Community College. I was so
not nervous so you might be nervous on some of your first meets but later
on you won't be so don't worry.
Laura S. From Athens, AL Thanks for reading my story.

Words of Wisdom
At gym I always act like I'm at a meet. So I do everything like at a meet.
The when I go to a meet I don't get nervous because I act like I'm at
practice. Plus I tell myself there are always more meets. If I mess up
here I will have another meet to make it up. -- Jami from Cali

Just Pretend
I was a level five at a meet and I was SO nervous before my beam routine.
One of my coaches came up to me and told me to pretend that no one was
there. I had a no-fall routine! -- Allie
